He's glad to hear that Godric's human family wasn't specifically abusive -- he also learned to fight and sustained injuries as a child, at least, it doesn't seem done from cruelty. He doesn't personally know how much a tattoo hurts, but if it's what was done in Godric's culture they are probably badges of honor he was praised for enduring.

(Quentin's smile mirrors Godric; it makes the (former) vampire look so young, but it's his eyes that have this ageless quality to them. He is so calm right now, more so than Quentin would be if the tables were turned. He chuckles quietly, hearing the humor for what it is.)

This is kind of exactly what I thought was going to happen, considering the climate and the way technology was headed. And the AI thing was suuuuper expected. I guess I'm more impressed the AI didn't manage to win, because humans are pretty good at destroying themselves.

But they're together and I don't have Charlie and a little part of me really, really hates them. And then I feel bad about it because I don't even want Charlie to be here I want him to be in Elysium where he belongs but I also want to be with him and I hate hate hate that I'm surrounded by people in love and it makes me just wanna choke 'em and that's not nice! And I don't want to be not nice, I want to be better than that, I want to be better than what people think of Aphrodite's children, I don't want people to think all we are is jealous, catty bitches who want to tear other people's love apart because we're not like that.
